Objectives

Founded in November 1984, ICAS is a registered national body dedicated to promoting and nurturing Vedic knowledge, especially Jyotisha (Vedic astrology), Naaḍi, Hasta Rekha (palmistry), and Vaastu sciences across India. Established by the renowned Dr. B. V. Raman and now led by Prof. A.B. Shukla, IAS (Retd.), it serves as the leading apex institution for standardising astrological sciences, examinations, and certification. ICAS boasts over 21,000 registered members, 60+ active chapters, and more than 450 faculty members, with around 40 years of academic excellence.

ICAS as a Global body sets the standard for the study, research and practice of our ancient wisdom of Vedic Astro-oriented sciences. Enabling our members to experience the remarkable journey of updating knowledge that is intellectually, socially, and personally transformative and strengthens the moral and ethical values of our society

  • Provide easy access to everyone in the society to the authentic knowledge of Astrology, Vāstu, Hasta Rekha, Nādi and allied subjects by imparting education and training through a structured syllabus.
  • To conduct scientific research including observation, investigation and encourage learning of Jyotisha and allied Sastras and bring out publications.
  • Bring into the fold of the Council all qualified and competent Astrological Savants, Astrologers, Palmists, Astro-Palmists, Astro-mathematicians and Scientists.
  • Frame guidelines of working, and functioning to regulate the study, research and practice of astrology and allied sciences.
  • To strengthen moral and ethical values in society by propagating Vedic wisdom, particularly the knowledge of Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology), to establish a just social order.
  • To impart education, certification, and examination in Vedic Astrology and allied sciences, including Vastu, Palmistry, Numerology, and Nadi Shastra, through a structured two-tier syllabus (e.g., Jyotish Praveena, Jyotish Visharada, Vastu Acharya, Hastrekha Visharada, Nadi Visharada).
  • To conduct rigorous research to validate and advance the scientific foundations of Jyotisha, exploring principles like the Kalapurusha chart and Badhaka, and integrating them with Vedic texts such as the Rigveda and Srimadbhagavadgita.
  • To offer accessible courses (online and offline) across India, catering to diverse learners and fostering personal development to guide individuals in addressing life challenges (e.g., education, marriage, health, career).
  • To publish research-based books and resources in English and Hindi to enrich astrological education and stimulate further studies among students, experts, and researchers.
