Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS) was established in 1984 under the leadership of Dr. B.V. Raman, an eminent astrologer, to systematize the learning of astrology with a scientific temperament.

ICAS, as a global council, sets standards for the study, research, and practice of Vedic astro-oriented sciences. It imparts knowledge through its chapters and centers located across India.

ICAS is governed by a central body of top-notch astrologers elected by its members, operating as per the bye-laws of ICAS.

ICAS offers the following courses through its Noida Chapter, additionally some exclusive courses also offered by Noida chapter are also mentioned below:

  • Jyotish Praveena

  • Jyotish Visharada

  • Vāstu Praveena

  • Vāstu Acharya

  • Hasta Rekha Praveena

  • Hasta Rekha Visharada

  • Nādi Praveena

  • Nādi Visharada

  • Post-Visharada (Bridge course leading to practice)

  • Numerology (Noida Chapter only)

  • Tarot (Noida Chapter only)

Aspirants must be 18 years old and have passed the minimum SSC examination. Students should complete Praveena courses before enrolling in Visharada/Acharya courses. For the Nādi course, completion of Jyotish Praveena is mandatory.

No prior knowledge of astrology is required for Jyotish Praveena, Vāstu Praveena, and Hasta Rekha Praveena courses. However, prior knowledge is beneficial for other courses, and Jyotish Praveena is a prerequisite for the Nādi course.

  • Vāstu Praveena: 6 months

  • Vāstu Acharya: 6 months

  • Hasta Rekha Praveena: 6 months

  • Post-Visharada (Bridge course): Continuous basis

  • Numerology: 6 months

  • Tarot: 6 months

Classes are held online. Depending on the course selected classes would either be held in evenings on certain weekdays and/or on weekends. As many of our students are also working professionals, timetable is designed to accommodate all.

Yes classes are conducted online. In person- events are also organized on special occasions to foster in-person interaction

All chapters follow the same ICAS syllabus, but they differ in session schedules (January/July), courses offered, and medium of instruction (e.g., Delhi chapters may offer English and Hindi, while Telangana chapters may offer English and Telugu).

The course fees include:

  • 1. Life Membership fee: Rs. 1,000 for Indian residents, Rs. 5,000 for non-residents (one-time payment).
  • 2. Tuition fee: Varies for different courses
  • 3. Examination fee: As prescribed for each course (see Examination and Certification page).

Admissions open in January and July each year when the admission window is active for the respective semesters.

ICAS is an independent council focused on professional development in astrology, not affiliated with any university or government organization.

Examinations are conducted in June and December each year. The Controller of Examinations announces dates at least two months in advance. Check the Examination and Certification page for details.

Candidates must register and apply through the ICAS Academic Portal.

After COVID-19, the examinations were conducted through online mode. However, for all new students from 2025 onwards examinations will be conducted in offline mode. In case of a strong reason where a person may not be able to physically appear at any of the ICAS chapters, can an online examination be requested

Yes, online examinations are available. However, all students registered post 2025 would need to place special request citing the reason for unavailability to physically appear for examinations at any of the nearest ICAS centres. Candidates must select the mode of examination during registration.

ICAS conducts online mock tests to familiarize candidates with the online examination ecosystem.

You can reappear for the failed paper in the next examination by paying Rs. 150 per paper.

Results are published on the ICAS Academic Portal on the student’s profile page as per the academic calendar.

Request a duplicate mark sheet/certificate through your chapter chairman with details (Name, LM number, Roll number, Chapter, Course, Session, and copies of LM, mark sheet, and certificate) after paying the relevant fees.

Individuals aged 18 or older interested in studying or practicing astrology can apply for membership. Visit the membership page for details.

Members receive invitations to ICAS events, can participate in activities, and access astrology resources published by ICAS. Membership is mandatory to pursue ICAS courses.

Life Membership applications are visible on the Chapter Chairman’s Dashboard. If a student has not applied for Life Membership, the chapter chairman should notify them to apply before the cutoff date specified in the academic calendar.

  • 1. Receipt of LM Applications: Applications are visible on the Chapter Chairman’s Dashboard upon submission.
  • 2. Approval by Chapter Chairman: The chairman verifies and approves the application after scrutiny.
  • 3. Allotment of Life Membership Number: The Hon. National Secretary approves the application upon receipt of LM fees and assigns a Life Membership number.
  • 4. Communication: An email is sent to the student/applicant and chapter chairman with the Life Membership number.
  • 5. Generation of Life Membership Cards: Cards are sent to the chapter’s address for distribution to members.

Errors can be corrected by the student under the “My LM Application” tab on their ICAS Academic Portal profile until the chapter chairman approves the form. Alternatively, the chapter chairman can make corrections before approval.

Existing members who have passed an online examination or enrolled via the ICAS Academic Portal already have access. Other members must:

  • 1. Visit the ICAS Academic Portal and select “Membership Registration.”
  • 2. Choose the “Are you an existing member?” option.
  • 3. Create a profile, which must be approved by the chapter chairman under the “LM Application” tab.

Student membership numbers (series 15xxx, 16xxx, or 17xxx) must be converted to Life Membership by paying a differential fee of Rs. 500. The student should apply for conversion through the ICAS Academic Portal as an existing member, quoting their student membership number.

The ICAS Academic Portal is a platform where students register for examinations, access results, and manage academic profiles. Members can also access AGM notices and financials.
